07. September, 2009
Bangkok Airport has seen some severe
raids and many Scammers have been reported as arrested by
the TAT and local police.
Dangerous Bangkok Airport
07. August, 2009
Bangkok Airport is once again in the
headlines around the world with tourists getting blackmailed
and robbed in bright daylight.
Recently Australian and European tourists had to pay up to
€8.000 Euro to bail themselves out of and gang trouble
after one night in jail for "shoplifting". Many
extortion Scammers are now targeting travelers and caution
is vital.
Also taxi drivers have become notorious for scams and late
night arrival should better consider the official Bangkok
Airport taxis despite the double price. Only they ensure reliable
transports whilst other taxis can be very dangerous.
All tourists at Bangkok airport should always carry a mobile
phone and the number of the official tourist police. Only
that may help when suddenly being accused for shop lifting
or for having thrown a cigarette on the floor.
Phone number of the Bangkok Tourist Police 1155
Airport Tourist Police Office
Suvarnabhumi Tel: Tel. 02 535 1155, 535 1641
However, not even the tourist Police can be trusted as this
story reveals.
27. November, 2008
Bangkok International Airport could
be expected to be blocked for a long while and Thailand tourists
are recommended to fly to Phuket straight, where local tourism
business operators will prevent disturbances. Now also the
second Bangkok Airport Don Muyang has fallen under control
of the anti government forces and the city remains cut off
from any air traffic.
26. November, 2008
Bangkok Airport is blocked by demonstrators
which were obviously allowed by the Thai army and police to
stop all International flights.
Analysts say, that this is a part of a high level gang war
between for former leader Thaksin and his ex-supporter Limptonkul
who is driving the PAD demonstrations.
Airport history:
The new and very impressive Bangkok Airport with the name
Suvarnabhumi is one of the biggest in Asia and located 30
kilometers outside of the city.
