A Charles de Gaulle Airport experience
|
 |
|
Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris
The biggest French airport is located 23 kilometers (14 miles)
outside of Paris ad it is the second busiest in Europe after
London, Heathrow.
Meanwhile expats are amazed about the fact, that there are
not only signs and symbols in French directing through the
well organized and partly even pretty Charles de Gaulle Airport
who has taken over from the legendary Orly Airport.

A big surprise is also, that there is no train station inside
the airport building so that shuttle busses get on visitors
nerves when they have to shift their luggage up and down and
in and out one more time.
Also limited information about connections and some waiting
time do not match a world class city like Paris at all.
Those, who want to connect by Taxi have to look at a fare
of up to 80 Euro depending upon time and traffic whilst the
train costs around 8 Euro for the 45 minutes ride on the RER
rapid TGV train that can be accessed at the central Gare du
Nord.

A truly positive feature are the notebook tables inside the
departure lounge so that going through emigration can make
much sense for those who want to work on their notebook.
Tables offer ac/dc and a nice look on the runway.
Also the availability of drinks and beverages make the lounge
very attractive.
