A Frankfurt Airport experience
|
 |
|
Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest in Europe and the
home base of the German national carrier Lufthansa.
The Airport is huge and distances can be extremely long when
for example arriving at the internal train station that connects
to all cities with comfortable, but extremely expensive high
speed trains called ICE.
Departure lounges pride a modern and expensive design with
loads of light and monitors that display the wealth of the
still 4rth largest economy in the world.

Frankfurt Airport has established itself as the prime German
destination for all International Airlines as it is one of
the most central points in Germany with even the legendary
A1 motorway right next to it what makes it an ideal place
for all those, who come for driving without any speed limits.
Going up to 200 kilometers and more per hour is now only
possible in Germany where cars and motorways are build for
that.

The staff at the airport speaks good English, but real friendliness
can not be expected everywhere. Of course, some turn out as
extremely polite whilst in particular the Lufthansa crew has
strong tendency to be very arrogant despite the poor state
of their services.
Also when providing check in services for smaller carriers
they tend to be very fussy even about a tiny bit of excess
luggage.
Also the privatized security staff comes across as partly
aggressive and hysterical at times.

|
Negative are also the extremely high prices for parking,
food and drinks.
A small bottle of coke out of a machine can cost as much
as 3 Euro compared to 0,60 cent in a supermarket.
Impressive inside the large Frankfurt Airport complex is
the large selection of shops and restaurants though the quality
is mostly way below other European and even some so called
third world countries.
Except for it`s excellent connectivity Frankfurt Airport
can unfortunately not really convince and there are other
airports in Germany that are much nicer at every level.
